POWERbreathe EX1 Light Resistance – Damaged Box Clearance

$89.95 $123.20

The same POWERbreathe EX1 Light Resistance we sell at full price, discounted because the outer packaging has been damaged in transit or storage.

About the packaging

The boxes are noticeably damaged — crushed corners, tears, scuffing or crushing to the box face. The device inside is brand new, unused and sealed, with all accessories present. Nothing about the product itself has been affected.

Sold as-is at a reduced price. No returns or exchanges on clearance stock, so please check the resistance range below and make sure the Light model is right for you before ordering. Limited quantities — once sold, they're gone.

If the box matters to you (for example if the item is a gift), we'd suggest buying the full-price version instead.

Train the muscles you breathe out with

The POWERbreathe EX1 Series gives your breathing-out muscles a workout. While the POWERbreathe Plus IMT trains the muscles you breathe in with, the EX1 trains the muscles you breathe out with — the muscles you also use for coughing, speaking and singing.

It works like weights for your breathing. When you breathe out through the device, a spring-loaded valve pushes back against your breath, so your muscles have to work against a resistance. As you progress, you turn the dial up to increase the challenge.

The EX1 was developed with speech and language therapists around the world and is used by singers, wind musicians, athletes and people working with health professionals. It is drug-free, hand-held and easy to use at home or in a clinic.

This listing: Light Resistance

  • Who it's for: Beginners, people new to breathing training, and performers building voice and breath control. Suitable for most people.
  • Resistance range: 10–80 cmH₂O, across 11 levels (0–10), going up in steps of 7 cmH₂O.
  • The Light model covers the range most people train in, and is the one we recommend if you're unsure.

Medium and Heavy models are available at full price for experienced users who have outgrown this range. If you have been advised to use EMT as part of a clinical or rehabilitation program, ask your health professional which model suits you.

About Expiratory Muscle Training (EMT)

Expiratory Muscle Training (EMT) is a way of exercising the muscles you breathe out with, using a set resistance — like resistance training for any other muscle group. Breathing out is usually passive, but when you exercise hard, cough, sing or play a wind instrument, your breathing-out muscles do real work. EMT lets you train those muscles on their own. Speak to your doctor, physio or speech therapist about whether EMT is right for you.

Recommended use

A simple 5 × 5 × 5 routine: 5 strong breaths out, 5 times a day (25 in total), 5 days a week, with about a minute's rest between sets. Breathe in fully, then breathe out through the device as fast and forcefully as you can. After 5 days, check your level — you may be ready to turn the dial up.

Product features

  • Consistent resistance: A calibrated spring valve gives you the same measured resistance on every breath out — the same pressure threshold method used across the POWERbreathe range.
  • 11 resistance levels: Turn the dial up as you progress, with a clear level indicator on the handle so you can track where you're at.
  • Comfortable design: Lightweight, ergonomic shape based on the POWERbreathe Plus, with a soft mouthpiece.
  • App compatible: Add the POWERbreathe Smart Adaptor to see your training live in the ActiBreathe® app, including breathing-strength tests.
  • Fully disassembles: The EX1 comes apart completely for a thorough clean — important for a device you breathe out through.
  • TGA registered: Class 1 medical device.

What's in the box

  • POWERbreathe EX1 EMT device (Light Resistance)
  • Comfortable mouthpiece
  • Nose clip
  • Storage pouch
  • 4 cleansing tablets

Care and cleaning

Ready to use straight out of the box — no setup needed. Rinse in warm water after each use and let it dry. Once a week, soak it for 10 minutes in warm water with a cleansing tablet, then rinse and air dry. It comes apart fully for a deeper clean, which also makes it suitable where more than one person uses a device with their own mouthpiece.

Important notes

Not suitable for children under 7 (small parts). Anyone under 16 should train with an adult supervising. Don't use it while you're unwell with a cold or chest issue — wait until you're fully better. Training may feel like hard work but should never hurt. If it does, stop and see your doctor.

Warranty

The device is covered under warranty for two years after purchase. Damaged packaging is not a warranty fault and is the reason for the discount. Clearance items are not returnable for change of mind.
