Suitable for all Pegaso therapy modes, including percussion
This pack includes the Percussor Expiratory Adaptor, making it the correct consumable pack for patients whose therapy includes percussion (IPV) mode as well as cough assist / mechanical insufflation-exsufflation (MI-E).
The expiratory adaptor is a valve fitted in the patient circuit that is designed to be:
- Open during percussion / IPV mode, allowing the patient to breathe out freely while the device delivers high-frequency percussive pulses; and
- Closed during cough assist / MI-E mode, so that the full insufflation and exsufflation pressures are delivered to the airway.
If your therapy uses cough assist / MI-E modes only and does not include percussion, the lower-cost Cough Assist Consumable Replenishment Pack is also suitable.
Each pack contains
- 1 × Smoothbore tubing
- 1 × Percussor Expiratory Adaptor
- 1 × Anti-dust filter
- 4 × Bacterial filters
- 1 × ClearLite mask (size 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) or 1 × Disposable catheter (tracheostomy) mount
Mask Sizing
- Size 2 White: Paediatric (9.5 cm from bridge of nose to under bottom lip)
- Size 3 Yellow: Small Adult (11cm from bridge of nose to under bottom lip)
- Size 4 Green: Adult (11.5cm from bridge of nose to under bottom lip)
- Size 5 Orange: Large Adult (12.5cm from bridge of nose to under bottom lip)
- Size 6 Red: Extra Large Adult (Over 12.5cm from bridge of nose to under bottom lip).
Compatible devices: Pegaso E7C, Pegaso Plus and Pegaso Cough Assist.
Care and replacement recommendations
- Bacterial filters: change weekly, or more frequently if soiled or wet.
- All other parts of the circuit (tubing, expiratory adaptor, mask, catheter mount or mouthpiece): wash daily in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry, and replace monthly.
