Theravent Snore Therapy delivers the quiet night's sleep you have been waiting for in the form of a lightweight adhesive nasal strip worn comfortably over the nostrils during sleep.

What differentiates Theravent from other snoring aids?

Unlike other snoring aids, Theravent uses the power of the wearer's own breath to target the most common cause of snoring - vibration in the airway. This vibration occurs when throat muscles relax during sleep and obstruct the airway.

Air rushing past the soft tissue creates the vibrations that result in the sound we know as snoring. Theravent uses patented MicroValve technology and Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure, or EPAP, to remedy snoring.

Upon exhalation, the MicroValves partially close to create a gentle pressure that maintains an open and clear airway, reducing snoring and night time irritations.

Advantages of using Theravent

  1. Comfortable and easy to use
  2. Patented MicroValve Technology
  3. FDA-cleared and clinically proven
  4. Available without a prescription
  5. Developed from Provent Prescription Technology

Theravent Studies

Invented by a Stanford University professor of medicine, Theravent Advanced Nightly Snore Therapy’s impact on snoring and on bed partners’ sleep has been rigorously tested in clinical studies. Results were presented at the Associated Professional Sleep Societies conference, the prestigious medical conference sponsored by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and published in Sleep Diagnosis and Therapy.

These studies proved that Theravent was effective in reducing snoring. 3 out of 4 bed partners in the studies also reported that they got a better night’s sleep when their partner used Theravent. 83% of bed partners said their partners snored less with Theravent. With Theravent REGULAR 79% of bed partners said that Theravent Advanced Nightly Snore Therapy delivered a quieter night’s sleep; and with Theravent MAX an astonishing 89% of bed partners reported a quieter night's sleep!

How to Use Theravent

Allow yourself time to adjust to the feeling of using Theravent. For most people, this will only take a night or two while others may take up to a week. If at any time using Theravent nasal strips you become uncomfortable, simply remove the device and use a new one the next night.

Theravent nasal strips should be applied just before going to sleep to clean skin for best application. With Theravent snoring strips in place you'll breathe in normally and then feel a gentle resistance as you breathe out. This resistance is Theravent beginning to work; and you’ll hardly notice it's there after a few nights!

    Finally, something that works!

Posted by claire Bell on 25th Jan 2018

I've tried just about everything short of a CPAP machine over the past five years since I started snoring. And, finally, I've found something that actually works. It took a few nights to adjust, but it's all good now. I've also noticed a huge reduction in anxiety. Perhaps it's not a coincidence as I've recently read that snoring has all kinds of nasty side effects--including anxiety due to its activation of the flight or flight response.
Absolutely fantastic product. I've already ordered more.

    Felt restrictive

Posted by Unknown on 15th Aug 2017

    Hi.
I am glad these came as a trial package as I have found them to be too restrictive on both breathing in and breathing out. I am sure that I would eventually get used to the product, but currently I don't snore badly enough to go through a period of adjustment. In the future I would gladly give the product another go.
Apart from the above, I found the product easy to use and relatively comfortable to wear. It would be really good if a multi wear version was invented as it does seem a little wasteful as a once only use.

Thank you for you constructive comments. EPAP devices such as Theravent may take 10-20 days to get used to. The aim in the first few weeks is to try and get to sleep with the device on. When you are asleep exhalation is passive. IE no muscles push the air out, it is the natural elastic recoil of the chest that expels the air. The body doesn't mind that you breath out slower. Enough air will have come out by the end of exhalation to allow you to breath in. To verify Theravent is working, ask your partner or use one of the many smartphone apps available. The key question is has the snoring stopped or reduced when you are asleep. If it has you know the device is working and you just need to learn to sleep with it. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call us on 1300 76 72 79.

    It works!

Posted by Unknown on 28th Jul 2017

Just received product and have tried Lite and Regular so far. I'm so pleased with this product after only 2 nights. It's amazing!

I've used it in conjunction with an App that records snoring. With the Lite it recorded 3% and the Regular 1% both scored a 'very light snorer'. It will be interesting to see how the Max goes.....

As a comparison, with no aids the App recorded up to 24% 'heavy snorer'. With a nose tape aid it recorded up to 15% 'medium snorer'.

I've found it easy to apply and it doesn't mark the skin.

    Thank you.

difficult to get a good seal

Posted by Therese on 18th Jul 2017

I think the idea is a good one, especially the trial pack. Being female with a small nose I found it difficult to get a good seal so that when applied, expired air would escape from around the edges of the bandage. I ended up adding micropore tape to seal it properly but only figured that out after exhausting most of my supply. the micropore is a little harsh on the delicate skin around the nose and I don't think I could keep doing it repeatedly night after night. I didn't find the plaster uncomfortable. It did reduce my snoring volume but did not eliminate it (I use an app to record for comparison). It left me with a very dry mouth and lips, probably because it forces mouth breathing (not a the effect I was hoping for). I used Vaseline to alleviate the dryness.

I don't intend to purchase again but wouldn't dissuade others from trying it.

Thank you for the review Therese. The secret to fitting Theravent is to fit it from the nose to the middle of your lip. IE you must have some space behind the product so you can breathe in. To seal around the crease at the side of the nose push in firmly with the tips of your fingers. If you are in Brisbane come into see us and we can fit it for you plus replace the ones you used experimenting, I don’t believe I have seen a customer for whom I couldn’t get Theravent to seal on. If you are an another area we can recommend a reseller who could assist you. You mention a dry mouth, that would come from breathing more through your mouth than you would normally do. A dry mouth is normal for some people during the learning process. For Theravent to work your mouth needs to be closed. Many customers for Provent and Theravent also use a ChinStrap $28 to help keep their mouth closed when asleep. The chin strap stops you mouth from flopping open when you are unconscious/asleep. suffocated

Posted by Unknown on 17th Jul 2017

I tried it and felt like I was suffocating it was so difficult to breath, it was so unfortunate as I really believed it would help. Couldn't last the night with it on so ended taking it off.
    ---------------------------------------------------
Thank you for the review. When awake you can’t breathe out through your nose with either Theravent or Provent. You should apply Theravent just before you go to sleep and breath in through you nose and out through your mouth until you go to sleep. When you go to sleep you should switch to nasal breathing. IE the Nose is our heat moisture exchanger and filter and if the snoring is treated most people unconsionsly breath predomidantly through their nose

When you go to sleep your breathing slows down. Exhalation when asleep is also passive, IE the elastic recoil of your chest will naturally push the air out with no effort from your muscles. When you use Theravent the air comes out through the hole slower than normal but enough will have come out before your body decides to breathe in. The hole/slower exhalation creates pressure to hold your airway/throat wider which prevents/reduces the snoring. It takes most people 5-15 days to learn to sleep with Theravent. Please treat these days as a learning process, if you wake up and have had enough take it off and try again the next night. Of course also ask you partner if you snore less when you are asleep. Some people also find the addition of a chinstrap useful if their mouth drops open. Indications of this are a dry mouth or your partner. You can still open your mouth with a shin strap but it stops the mouth flopping open when you are unconscious/asleep. Causes a whistling noise when breathing in

Posted by Unknown on 5th Jul 2017

Not useable - makes my inhalations whistle

    ---------------------------------------------------
If Theravent whistling is most likely caused by the device being bent during application and changing the exhalation hole shape. Try repositioning the device so that the clear part is flat, perhaps lower on the lip to stop the whistling.

i'm back in the queen bed

Posted by Sue Hodges on 20th Jun 2017

Great idea to buy the trial pack. Tried the lite and didn't do much. After 2 nights with the regular, my partner said I didn't snore and we both had an excellent sleep. Patch does feel a bit strange at first, but after a few nights you forget it's on.
I have ordered 2 packs of the regular (it says single use, but I have reused it for a 2nd night with good results).
Would recommend this product but make sure you use the correct patch (lite, regular and max)

    great improvemet

Posted by Unknown on 15th May 2017

I suffer from pauses in my heartbeat during the night but a recent overnight monitor has shown a great improvement and what's better my partner is sleeping in our bed not the spare one

Thank you for your review and that it is making such a difference. Please ensure you keep discussing your results with your Dr but it sounds like their monitoring has confirmed it is working. Ben – www.homemed.com.au.

    level up in my relationship

Posted by Tanya on 24th Feb 2017

I have been with my partner for 9 months.
We still only see each other a few nights a week, mostly due to my snoring.
I tried out the Lite last night, and after some giggles getting it on correctly and sealed, it was on and we went to sleep.
It took a little while to fall asleep, but straight away I could feel the pressure difference in the nasal cavity. Such a relief.
In the morning my partner was refreshed and said he checked that I was ok during the night because I was so quiet.
I think we will level up now and spend more nights together :-)

i am sleeping better - my hubsnad snores -

Posted by Frankie Harrison on 6th Dec 2016

My husband has tried the trial, pack and I believe - considering I am the person who hears all the snoring - believe this product works. My husband said he prefers the 'light' ones - he is going to use the 2nd Medium one tonight but feels the Light ones are better.

I must admit when he used the Max one that didn't do much of a difference to his snoring,

I can check tonight when he uses the last 'Medium' one but it appears that the 'Light' ones suit him best and certainly me.
